Police arrested 26 people overnight, of which seven was recorded in Nabua for breaching COVID19 restrictions.

Of the seven, two were arrested for playing touch rugby and five including a 16-year-old were found in a gym.

“It has been clearly stated that gyms are to remain closed and touch rugby is prohibited because of the potential threats they have on individuals in our nation’s ongoing campaign to control and contain the spread of COVID-19,” Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho said.

The seven arrests recorded were part of the 26 made between 10pm Wednesday 29 April and 5am today – one in the northern, five in the eastern, 19 in the southern and one in the western division.
