Students taught revised curriculum via virtual lessons: Education

Fiji’s Ministry of Education has realigned the curriculum for years one to 13, with lessons based on this revised syllabus delivered virtually.

The ministry did not say the extent to which this year’s syllabus has been adjusted only saying that “the core body of knowledge remains unaffected.”

“Schools have been able to complete a fair amount of the curriculum in Term 1 and teachers are continuing to deliver the remainder remotely,” Dr Angela Jokhan said in a statement.

Students will have a chance to review and discuss these remote learnings during the first few weeks of school, which will be set aside for revision purposes.

The Ministry of Education also encourages students to interact with their teachers through existing communication platforms to ensure they understand complex concepts.
