Former Hurricanes player Salesi Rayasi has settled into the Fiji Water Flying Fijians squad at their Newcastle camp, where preparations are in full swing ahead of the test against the Australian Wallabies.
Head Coach Mick Byrne noted that Rayasi has adapted well to the team environment and has been putting in strong performances on the training pitch.
“Rayasi has come in well, he’s a professional obviously spending a fair bit of time in NZ and now in France so he’s pretty well grounded.”
“Salesi has contributed well on and off the field so as far as new players go, he is doing really well.”
Byrne added that the squad has been training well and is consistently reminded of the importance of understanding their roles and responsibilities within the team.
“When we come together, it’s important to get some clarity, getting everyone is on the same page. It’s very important to us that we cultivate a mindset that is positive, everyone understand how we are meant to be playing and bring all that energy into the preparation and the game.”
The match will kick off at 3.30pm on Saturday at the McDonald Jones Stadium.
