Police have identified the body of a woman found in a Suva hotel on Monday as that of a 45-year-old who was reported missing last week.
The woman, a resident of Caubati, had been the subject of a missing person notice issued by police after her family reported her disappearance at the Valelevu Police Station. She was last seen in Suva on Wednesday, November 20, in the company of a friend. Attempts by her family to contact her since had been unsuccessful.
Police stated that the woman was a guest at the hotel.
The body was discovered under unclear circumstances, and police have confirmed that a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Investigations are ongoing.
