Part-time Commentator Charged Over Sale Of Land

A part-time sports commentator accused of selling a piece of land in Makoi he did not own has been charged by FICAC with 51 counts of obtaining a financial advantage.

It is alleged that between May 2019 and May 2020, Ajnal Anal Bhai obtained $106,100 from unsuspecting individuals. 

He appeared before the Suva Magistrates Court recently. He was granted non-cash bail of $5,000 with strict conditions, including not to re-offend or interfere with prosecution witnesses and reporting to the FICAC Suva Office monthly. 

A Stop Departure Order has been issued against him, and the case is adjourned until May 9, 2024, for further mention regarding the second phase disclosures.
