A clean slate and dealing with internal issues in the Fiji Police Force is one of the first things that Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu will look into.
Commissioner Tudravu made this statement when speaking to the media at the handing-over ceremony from his predecessor, Commissioner Juki Fong Chew, who enters retirement.
Tudravu said that he was adamant on sorting issues that have plagued the Force for a while now.
“Dealing with our issues within the force is very important to me. We need to identify the problems, the internal bickering needs to stop before we can be effective outside in our roles.”
“The Fiji Police Force is going through alot of changes, and we have to move with the time and address these changes especially the one plaguing Fiji right now.”
Commissioner Tudravu said starting clean is of utmost importance to him.
“Today I want the Force to start afresh. There is no looking back now; we move forward with one goal: to carry out our roles as guardians and lawkeepers with utmost dignity.”
Predecessor Commissioner Juki Fong Chew congratulated Tudravu.
“There couldn’t be a better man for the job. As this is my last day in this uniform I am content the Force is in good hands.”
