Irimaia Rokosawa Confirmed as Land Transport Authority CEO

Fiji’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) Board has appointed Irimaia Rokosawa as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 1 October 2024.

Rokosawa steps into the role following a period as Acting CEO, a position he has held since April 2023.

His appointment was confirmed by the LTA Board of Directors, with Chairman Inosi Kuridrani expressing confidence in his ability to lead the organisation through its next phase.

“Mr Rokosawa’s extensive experience in financial management and public service, combined with his deep understanding of the LTA’s operations, make him the ideal leader for this organisation,” said Mr. Kuridrani. “His contributions as Acting CEO over the past several months have been exemplary, and we are confident that under his leadership, the LTA will continue to uphold its commitment to ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient land transport services for all Fijians.”

Mr. Rokosawa has a career spanning over two decades, with significant roles in the public sector and financial management. He joined the LTA in 2017 as General Manager of Finance and Administration and later served as Chief Financial Officer from 2020 to 2022.

As Acting CEO, Rokosawa led initiatives to modernize LTA operations and prioritise customer service, receiving praise for advancing technology and customer focus.

“As the newly appointed CEO, I am committed to driving the LTA’s strategic vision, focusing on enhancing operational efficiencies, embracing technological advancements, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organisation,” Rokosawa said.

“I look forward to continuing our partnership and working closely with all stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and the public, to ensure that the LTA continues to deliver on its mandate of providing safe, efficient, and sustainable land transport solutions for all.”
