Fiji’s Police uprooted more than 1200 green plants believed to be marijuana from three separate farms over the weekend during which they apprehended one of the owners while two others are still to be identified.
On Kadavu, authorities uprooted more than 1000 plants from two farms, one in Nacomoto and another in Natumua; the latter led to the arrest of a 25-year-old farmer.
Carried out by the drug operations team, the raid saw the seizure of green plants ranging from 0.15m to 1.10m. The Natumua farmer was also found with some loose dried leaves.
In Rakiraki, police uprooted more than 200 green plants from a farm in Nabalabala in Ra following information received.
“The owners of two farms are yet to be identified as investigations continue,” police said.
