Fiji’s Joji Nasova capped off a standout season as the top points scorer and joint top try-scorer in the 2025 HSBC SVNS series
The 24-year-old ended the season as the top scorer with 158 points — the first Fijian since Napolioni Bolaca in 2020.
He shared the honour of being the top try scorer with Argentina’s Marcos Moneta, both scoring 26 tries each throughout the series. This marks the first time since the 2003–04 season that the men’s title has been shared. Nasova becomes only the fourth Fijian to top the try-scoring charts in a single series, joining Vilimoni Delasau (1999-2000), Nasoni Roko (2002-03), and Samisoni Viriviri (2013-14).
Since making his debut in Hong Kong last season, Nasova has made a significant impact in key moments of the season, including scoring two crucial tries in Fiji’s 43-21 semi-final win over Argentina, for the team’s first series title in 22 tournaments.
Nasova was also named in the 2025 HSBC Sevens Men’s Dream Team of the Year alongside England’s Harry Glover, Argentinians Luciano Gonzalez and Moneta, French captain Paulin Riva and Spain’s Manu Moreno and Pol Pla.
