John Rabuku Assumes Fiji Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Role

Former Acting DPP John Rabuku has rejoined the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, but this time as the new Deputy Director DPP.

His appointment, effective from today, comes a little over a month after he was told to step down from the post of Acting DPP.

Confirming his appointment to the Deputy DPP role, Acting DPP Nancy Tikoisuva said due process was followed with an independent panel designated to select the best candidate for the job.

“Rabuku needs no introduction. He comes with a vast knowledge and skills and has familiarity with the office therefore having him as the Deputy DPP can only add strength and capacity to what we already have as an office.”

Rabuku held the position of Acting DPP for nine months before the President of Fiji, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, revoked his appointment last month after a Supreme Court ruled that he was ineligible for the position.
