Fiji Rugby Union has confirmed Conway Begg’s resignation and announced Laijipa Naulivou, a pioneer of women’s rugby in the country, as his replacement.
Speaking to the media today, FRU Board Chairman John Sanday acknowledged receiving Begg’s resignation, citing, among other reasons, work commitments.
Begg’s departure comes just three months after he was appointed to the FRU Board alongside five others at FRU’s Annual General Meeting in Suva last November.
Naulivou’s appointment fulfills the FRU’s constitutional requirement for at least two female representatives on the Board, joining renowned sports management consultant Cathy Wong.
Sanday also announced the appointment of Etuate Tuqota as Board secretary.
