A foreign national has been charged in connection with the attempted importation of over four kilograms of methamphetamine, intercepted at Nadi International Airport last week.
Fiji Police say the accused is linked to three men charged earlier, including a serving police officer. He faces one count of unlawful importation of illicit drugs and a separate charge under Fiji’s Immigration Act for breaching his visitor visa conditions.
He will appear in the Nadi Magistrates Court today.
The arrest follows a joint operation by the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) and Fiji Police Force. Authorities discovered the drugs in a consignment from Southeast Africa during routine screening and carried out a controlled delivery to apprehend the suspects.
