Flying Fijians combination a class of its own: Byrne

The backline combination of Selestino Ravutaumada, Epeli Momo, Inia Tabuavou, Iosefo Masi and Vuate Karawalevu will be something to look forward to many years to come.

And Fiji Water Flying Fijians Head Coach Mick Byrne said the combination of the 5 players worked well and showed the depth and reach they have as a unit.

“They did really well, they worked together and they made a big difference out there. I am extremely pleased with how they played, all our debutants did really good.”

Captain Tevita Ikanivere said they will now have time to review their play and work on the areas that they need to improve on.

“We have a week to go before we travel to Tonga where we play them on their homeground. It will be different and we hope to be able to win on that away game too.”

“The boys were exceptionally brilliant and showed class however there are places we will have to work on.”

The team now have a bye-week where they will continue training as they prepare for the Ikale Tahi.

The national side play Tonga at Teufaiva Stadium in Nukualofa on September 6th.
