Fiji’s national minimum wage will increase from $4.50 to $5 an hour starting tomorrow, the Ministry of Employment has confirmed.
The increase marks the second phase of a wage adjustment, after it was increased from $4 to $4.50 per hour on 1 August 2024. Employers were given six months to prepare for the latest increase.
In a Fiji Government statement, the ministry stated the decision was made after extensive consultations with stakeholders and social partners.
Minister for Employment, Productivity and Workplace Relations, Agni Deo Singh, said the Ministry would continue to monitor and enforce compliance to ensure all employers adhere to the new wage rate.
