Fijian Drua regroup to take on Crusaders; Derenalagi, Salawa, Droasese out with injury

April 1, 2025

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua are ready to face the Crusaders this weekend in Suva.

Speaking to the media today, head coach Glen Jackson says the team has had time to recover and know what is expected of them.

“I would have preferred if they had gotten a game and not have a bye week but we have since had good sessions since getting back together, working on the areas that we have lacked in.”

“The guys know what needs to be done. They have seen how Moana Pasifika played against the Crusaders, they know the Crusaders will also be gunning for a win.”

Jackson also confirmed that Meli Derenalagi has been ruled out for the season following a knee surgery last week. Along with him are Kitione Salawa and Ilaisa Droasese on the injury list.

“It’s unfortunate because the guys have been playing well but in saying that we have other players who can easily fill those roles.”

The Drua face Crusaders at 3.35pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on Saturday.
