Fijian Drua look for redemption against Waratahs

April 16, 2025

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua go into the match against the Waratahs this Saturday knowing that they will need to do all they can to protect their home turf, in Lautoka.

And Head Coach Glen Jackson says apart from the physical preparation, mentally preparing the player also has been an ongoing feature to help the team.

“It’s never easy when we’ve lost the games that we have and it’s the Waratahs we’re talking about here. The boys have plenty ammunition from when they last played them.”

“That was certainly a game we should have won and there were certain aspects of that game that we were unhappy with and so I know that our boys are pretty excited to get back to them.”

Jackson also confirmed that Caleb Muntz, who played fullback against the Highlanders last weekend has been ruled out of contention due to injury while Kitione Salawa has recovered well and is back in training.

“Caleb has suffered an injury to his shoulders unfortunately so he’s out. Kiti Salawa on the other hand is back in contention for a spot for this week as he has returned to training.”

The game will kick off at 2.05pm on Saturday at Churchill Park in Lautoka. Tickets can be bought online or at the gates.
