Fiji recorded an increase in international visitor arrivals for June 2025, according to new figures released by the Fiji Bureau of Statistics.
The provisional data show 92,693 visitors visited the country last month — an increase of 0.1% compared to June 2024 (92,571 visitors), and a 7.1% increase from May 2025 (86,587 visitors).
This continues a five-year upward trend in tourism recovery and growth since 2021.

Of those who arrived in June, the majority — 91,136 — came by air, while 1,557 visitors arrived by sea. The latter included 1,051 crew members aboard fishing vessels and 506 individuals on yachts.
Visitors from Australia made up the largest share, contributing 40,903 travellers or 44.1% of the total. New Zealand followed with 24,897 visitors (26.9%), and the United States accounted for 12,588 (13.6%). Other key markets included China (2,280), Continental Europe (2,208), Canada (1,490), and the United Kingdom (960).
These seven source markets collectively represented over 92% of all visitor arrivals in June.
Holidaymakers comprised the largest group, with 80.5% of all visitors listing leisure as the main purpose of their visit. A further 8.2% came to visit friends or relatives, 2.2% for business purposes, and 9.1% cited other reasons.
The demographic data show that 61.2% of visitors were aged between 25 and 64 — broadly considered the working-age population — while children under 14 accounted for 16.3%. Youths aged 15–24 made up 11.6%, and those aged 65 and over comprised 10.9% of arrivals.
Meanwhile, 14,989 Fijian residents departed the country during the same month. Most — 90.7% — were away for short-term absences of under three months. Just over half of these residents travelled for holidays (57.7%), followed by visits to friends and relatives (30.2%) and business trips (6.4%).
