The Tuckers Ice Cream primary school athletics championship is set to showcase talent and athletics prowess from across various districts and schools in Fiji.
The two-day event which will be held at the end of this month is set to draw together primary school students from all over the country with an inclusion from Wallis and Futuna.
Goodman Fielder General Manager Tim Carter said the company was happy to support the encouragement of primary school athletics.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the Fiji Primary School Athletics Association and contribute to the growth of athletics in Fiji. The sponsorship reflects Goodman Fielder’s ongoing effort to support local communities and contribute to the well-being of Fijians.”
Meet executive Patrick Bower said districts were looking forward to coming to Suva, with many already eyeing records.
“This year the competition will be very stiff yet we know it will be a good time for these young athletes to come together and showcase their talent.”
“The future of Fiji athletics begins at these games. Banuve Tabakaucoro, Eugene Vollmer and other national reps all began their journey from the national athletics games in primary school.”
The games will be held on the 28th and 29th of November at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
