Fiji Police are investigating the deaths of two males aged 16 and 22 in two separate incidents this week, the former believed to have died by drowning and the other from injuries he sustained during a drinking party.
Authorities said the teenager was swimming with his family near Sun City Beach Uciwai, Nadi after 3pm when he was swept away by strong currents. His body was not recovered until three hours later.
The second fatal incident was reported in Nasele village, Waidina, Naitasiri yesterday.
The 22-year-old was found motionless in his home with visible injuries. He was taken to the Nausori Health Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
