A 63-year-old billiard shop caretaker from Ba has been charged with obtaining financial advantage through the Mpaisa platform.
Authorities allege that on 4 July 2024, the man dishonestly received $250 from a member of the public via Mpaisa and withdrew the funds despite not being entitled to them.
The incident was reported to the Valelevu Police Station, leading to his arrest by the Fiji Police Force’s Mpaisa Taskforce Team.
The accused remains in custody and is expected to appear before the Ba Magistrates Court today.
