Fiji Link ready to resume flights, adds vax status to travel requirement

September 16, 2021

Fiji Link, Fiji’s domestic airline says eligible passengers will need to be fully vaccinated to utilise its services when domestic flights resume in line with the progressive lifting of containment zones as Fiji surpasses the 60 per cent fully vaccinated mark for its target population.

The airline says it has added fully vaccinated status as part of its updated requirement for vaccination-eligible travelers aged above 18 who will be required to show their vaccination cards, in either the physical or digital form, at the check-in desks for issuance of a boarding passing. Individuals exempted from vaccination will also need to carry with them written approvals from the Ministry of Health or equivalent health authority.

Existing COVID-safeguards such as wearing of masks on board for all passengers, temperature checks and installation of careFIJI app as part the airline’s Travel Ready programme continue. The airline has also enabled self-scanning of printed or digital mobile boarding passes at the boarding gate to reduce contact.

With Fiji’s containment zones expected to be lifted in stages, the airline says it will roll out domestic flight schedules accordingly with flights between Suva and Nadi expected to resume first.
