Fiji Kula name strong side for OFC Women’s Nations Cup

Trina Davis makes a return to the national women’s soccer side that coach Angelina Chua has named for the Oceania Football Confederation’s Women’s Nations Cup to be held in Suva next month.

Davis who plays for FC Olympia USLW in the USA is joined by fellow American based players in Preeya Singh, Anisha Dwakar and Akanisi Sorovakarua.

The team have been training in Ba and Chua says the side is brimming with experience and skill.

“This team brings a good balance of youth, experience, and international exposure, which will be key as we look to challenge for the title on home soil.”

“We have had an intensive preparation phase, and I am proud of how far the players have come.” he said.

The team:

Goalkeepers: Mereoni Tinaimakubuna, Emily Esposito, Ka’iulani Scott.

Defenders: Filomena Racea, Naomi Waqanidrola, Maria Veronika, Pijila Kilaiwaca, Mereoni Tora, Caroline Qalivere, Ema Mereia, Sereana Naweni, Akanisi Sorovakarua.

Midfielders: Adi Litia Bakaniceva, Cema Nasau, Jotivini Tabua, Preeya Singh, Elesi Tabunase, Anisha Dwarka

Forwards: Koleta Likuculacula, Trina Davis, Adi Reva, Leba Narieta, Kasanita Taufa Tabua

Fiji will play Solomon Islands on July 5, against Tonga on July 8 and play Vanuatu on the 11th of July.
