People’s Alliance Leader Sitiveni Rabuka is Fiji’s new prime minister, ending FijiFirst Leader Voreqe Bainimarama’s 16-year reign as the country’s head of government.
Mr Rabuka won 28 votes to 27, ousting FijiFirst nominee Mr Bainimarama who was elected Leader of Opposition in the August House today, almost a week since the country’s 2022 General Election results were released.
SODELPA and National Federation party leaders Viliame Gavoka and Professor Biman Prasad were appointed deputy prime ministers alongside People’s Alliance deputy leader Manoa Kamikamica.
