Fiji COVID-19 cases drop to six

Another of Fiji’s COVID19 patient has recovered, bringing the number of recoveries to 12 and six active cases.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama tweeted the news this afternoon, in which he confirmed that all 190 tests carried out this week returned negative. Fiji has carried out almost 1200 tests to date.

This is the 11th day since the announcement of the country’s 18th case, and the 43rd day since the first positive case.

Meanwhile, health officials continue their door-to-door ‘LTDD’ campaign against leptospirosis, typhoid, dengue and diarrhoea. Members of the public are advised to seek medical attention if they experience fever, body aches, headache, and joint pain, all of which are symptoms of infection.
