Fiji’s Anti-Corruption agency received 29 complaints in January 2025, according to newly released data.
Of these, 18 were deemed non-corruption-related and referred to the relevant authorities, while 10 were classified as corruption-related and recommended for investigation. One complaint remains under legal assessment. In comparison, January 2024 saw 25 complaints, with 15 identified as corruption-related.
The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) did not initiate any legal proceedings in January 2025. A case involving two accused individuals was withdrawn after a key witness was unable to recall documentary evidence.
Meanwhile, FICAC’s Corruption Prevention Department conducted four training sessions for 90 participants, targeting public sector institutions, youth groups, and teachers.
