All four inmates who escaped from the Suva Corrections Center last night have been recaptured.
The final fugitive, Saula Luveitasau, 26 of Tailevu, was apprehended at Balabala Crescent in Newtown at 8:10am this morning, bringing the 11-hour search operation to a close.
The men who were serving time for aggravated robbery, assault and criminal intimidation broke out of the capital’s main correctional facility around 8.50pm.
Earlier this morning, authorities confirmed the arrest of three of the four escapees. Daniel Koroivuki, 24 from Lau, and Selema Nasilivata, 29 from Naitasiri, were captured in Nakasi. Emosi Rokovesu, 23 of Rewa, was found in Newtown, near Khalsa Road.
It remains unclear how the four men managed to escape the facility.
