Court Grants Bail to Nadi Woman Facing Drug Possession Charge

The 27-year-old woman from Nadi who was in a vehicle seized by Fiji Police with over 3kg of meth in an early morning operation in Vatuwaqa last Friday, appeared in a Suva magistrate court today.

Luisa Cagi who is facing one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs has been granted bail with a $1000 non-cash bond, Cagi must report to Sabeto Police Station monthly, starting this Saturday, and is subject to a stop departure order. She was also warned against reoffending, interfering with witnesses, or obstructing investigations.

The case is adjourned to March 18.

Cagi was part of a group of four apprehended in the operation, including the driver who failed to show his license at a Vatuwaqa roadblock check. The substances found in the vehicle were confirmed to be meth.

The driver and the other two, a 25-year old man and 26-year old woman both from Suvavou, were questioned and released.
