In seven days, Fiji Police issued 281 Public Health Infringement Notices (PHINS) with failure to wear a mask accounting for nearly 98 per cent of bookings.
Of the total bookings issued between 18 October and 24 October, 274 were issued for failing to wear a mask in public space, with the southern division recording the highest number of bookings for masks not worn while in public space.
The southern division recorded the most bookings with 237 cases followed by the western division with 36, and one in the eastern division.
Failure to wear a mask in a public service vehicle accounted for 2 bookings while 5 PSV drivers were booked for failing to comply with the 80% passenger capacity guidelines.
