Australia Defence Force arrive for Lekutu school rebuild

Twelve members of the Australian Defence Force arrived in the country and went into quarantine at Lekutu Secondary School in Bua, where they will begin rebuilding soon.

Mata ni Tikina o Lekutu and school manager Ovini Baleinamau said that this was a welcome move as they were looking forward to the completion of the classrooms that were destroyed during TC Yasa.

Baleinamau said they are grateful for the help rendered by ADF and their RFMF counterparts and are also satisfied with the quarantine regulations in place.

“They are going to be here for the next few months and we are looking forward to working with them because our school is precious and valuable to us here in Lekutu,” Baleinamau said.
