Seruiratu acknowledges commitments in rural areas

Minister for Defence, National Security and Policing, Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, Inia Seruiratu has acknowledged the commitment made in rural areas in the fight against COVID-19.

Seruiratu said advisory counsel, Turaga ni Koro and Matanikinas are heavily involved in the public health campaign as they come up with their own arrangements within the communities, villages and settlements.

While responding to the question in Parliament this morning, Seruiratu urged community leaders, individuals and member of households to take ownership and contribute towards pandemic response efforts.

“After the public health campaign and risk awareness, what is important is the enforcement and the employment of these COVID-19 protocols,” Seruiratu said.
