Emele Duituturaga has resigned from her role as SODELPA general secretary, effective this Friday 12 March, citing personal reasons.
She has held the role for nine months.
Duituturaga will however remain in the party as a senior member and has offered her services as and when required, SODELPA President Ratu Epenisa Cakobau said in a statement.
Ratu Epenisa said she played a pivotal role for the party during one of its challenging times including overcoming a suspension.
“Under her strong leadership, the party has been able to build on its preparations for the 2022 General Elections,” Ratu Epenisa said.
Ratu Epenisa will be the party’s point of contact until Duituturaga’s successor is appointed.
