Ashish Chand claimed the men’s amateur title at the 55th Ba Open Golf Tournament over the weekend, edging out a competitive field in a closely fought contest.
Chand finished ahead of Shakil Pillay, Nitulesh Mali and Rajen Singh in the final round, while Sanjay Sharma claimed the Overall Nett prize. Joeli Dakunimata came in as runner-up in that division.
In the women’s competition, Arti Sharma took home the gross winner’s trophy.
Meanwhile, Tomasi Tuivuna topped the leaderboard in the professional division, holding off a strong challenge from Amitesh Chandra and Zoheer Ahmed, who finished tied for second.
The one-day tournament also showcased upcoming talent, with junior golfer Nivaan Chand clinching top honours in his category, and Mohammed Fawaz taking the win among beginners.
