A man in his 60s has died following a motor vehicle accident along the Kings Road in Ra last night.
The victim, from Nasavu Village, was a passenger in a vehicle that veered off the road near Wairuku. Authorities say the vehicle was being driven by a man in his 30s at the time of the crash.
All five occupants sustained serious injuries and were taken to Rakiraki Hospital. The elderly passenger was pronounced dead on arrival.
Two other passengers remain at Rakiraki Hospital, while a third has been transferred to Lautoka Aspen Hospital for further treatment.
Police confirmed that the driver, also injured in the crash, is expected to be questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.
