The Fiji Rugby Union is expected to announce former Wales women’s rugby team coach Ioan Cunningham as the new coach of the Fijiana 15s team.
Cunningham was coach of the Wales national women’s team from 2021 to 2024.
He is credited by WRU chief executive Abi Tierney as being in charge of the transition of the Welsh women’s team from amateur to professional status, leading the side to a first ever win over Australia, finishing third in the Six Nations, and a World Cup quarterfinal.
But in 2024 the Wales women’s team won only 4 of their 11 tests.
Former Fijiana 15s coach Mosese Rauluni resigned in October last year after a slew of poor results.
