February 12, 2025

Swire Shipping Fijian Drua Head Coach Glen Jackson has named an exciting line-up, including three debutants and returning stars for their 2025 Super Rugby Pacific campaign this Saturday at Suva’s HFC Bank Stadium, hosting the Brumbies for the first time in Fiji.

Flying Fijians Vuate Karawalevu and Ponipate Loganimasi will start on the wings, marking their first appearances for the Drua. Meanwhile, Isoa Tuwai, a young flanker from Suva, has earned a spot on the bench and could make his debut. The match also sees the return of flanker Joseva Tamani, who last featured for the Drua in 2023.

The starting pack will see prop Haereiti Hetet at loosehead prop alongside Samuela Tawake at tighthead. Co-captain Tevita Ikanivere will play at hooker, making his 39th Super Rugby Pacific appearance. In the middle row, Mesake Vocevoce and Leone Rotuisolia will partner at lock, while Kitione Salawa and Elia Canakaivata complete the back-row alongside Tamani at blindside flanker.

At halfback, Simi Kuruvoli will partner Caleb Muntz at flyhalf. The wings will feature Karawalevu on the left and Loganimasi on the right, with Iosefo Masi, 2024 Drua Player of the Year, at outside centre alongside Kemu Valetini at inside centre. Isikeli Rabitu will start at fullback, with several utility backs named on the bench.

The Drua will be without three key players due to injury: Etonia Waqa (knee), Selestino Ravutaumada (shoulder), and Epeli Momo (long-term knee injury).

The match kicks off at 3.35pm.
