The Suva Cricket Association will be celebrating their 70th anniversary and to honor the milestone achievement, the club along with the national body will run a T20 Super League 2025 series where 12 teams will compete.
Sports apparel giants Sportsworld Fiji have joined the capital city side, gifting the association with ample cricket gear for the celebration and the upcoming cricket season.
Vinod Kumar, General Manager of Sportsworld said the company was happy to work alongside Suva Cricket and the national body to promote the sport in Fiji.
“We see cricket as an important sport in Fiji. Like any sport, they needed some support and we decided as a company to help them.”
“Sports has the ability to change peoples lives for the better, keeps people fit and in some instances helps them achieve goals and plans. We want to support cricketers in Fiji achieve their dreams.”
Speaking on behalf of the Suva cricket association Sevuloni Baba said they were grateful for the support in a time when organisations and companies were aligning themselves with major sports.
“We will always be grateful to Sportsworld Fiji Ltd for stepping in to help us when others were reluctant to support cricket. This means so much to us.”
