The Vancouver leg of the HSBC Sevens series will be a crucial one for Fiji if they are to remain at the top of the points standing.
Despite gaining 48 points from the past games, both Argentina and Spain have also got the same at the conclusion of the Perth tournament last weekend.
At the Perth leg, Fiji went down to a spirited Uruguay side 24 – 17 in the first match, bounced back and held down a tough Kenyan fight winning 21 – 14, gave New Zealand a resounding 26 – 05 thumping only to succumb to South Africa in the quarter final, not able to put any points on the board 19-0.
Fiji went on to play for the 5th place against France winning 17 – 5.
Osea’s Kolinisau’s men will now re-group before departing for Canada for the Vancouver tournament which will take place from February 21 – 24th.
