Police Recover Body of Five-Year-Old Boy From Rewa River

The body of a five-year-old boy who drowned in the Rewa River near Waidra, Baulevu, was recovered this morning, police have confirmed.

The incident happened yesterday afternoon while the child was out swimming.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Joape Cakacaka, Divisional Police Commander Eastern, is urging parents to ensure close supervision of children, especially as the cyclone season approaches.

In a statement, the Fiji Police Force also thanked the Goneturaga na Vunivalu of Kasavu and the surrounding communities who joined in the search effort.
