Lautoka Zone: Natabua, Jasper champs again

Former defending national champions Natabua High School and Jasper Williams High School have successfully defended their position as champions of the Lautoka Yasawa Zone currently taking place.

Jasper currently leads the girls division with 25 gold, 10 silver and 9 bronze with Natabua at second place with 8 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze.

There are only 8 events left to go, the 4x40m relays and 4x100m relays, not enough for Natabua to catch up to the girls from Delainamoli.

Meanwhile in the boys division, Natabua High School has 22 gold 17 silver and 8 bronze while Tilak at second place managed only 4 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals.

Meanwhile two records have been broken at these games, both on Day 1 of the games.

In the girls division, Jasper Williams High School’s Meresiana Fugawai set a new record in the Sub Junior girls shot put with a throw of 10.26m breaking the10m  record set in 2016 by Losana T also of Jasper Williams High School.

Mohammed Ahmed of Natabua High School set a new record in the Sub Junior Boys Discus event with a throw of 27.54m, an improvement from the 26.83m set in 2018 by Justine S of Tilak High School.

Apart from the relays, the boys division also has four events left to be completed.
