Search Continues For 4-Year-Old Swept Away in Flooded Creek

Search efforts continue this morning by Valelevu Police to locate a 4-year-old child swept away while attempting to cross a flooded creek with a family member last night.

The incident happened in Sakoca around 6 pm. The young victim was carried away by the strong currents as they tried to cross from Sakoca to Naivurevure Ni Cagi.

Search efforts were initiated last night but were called off due to darkness, and continue this morning, Fiji Police said.

Authorities are urging parents and guardians to place greater emphasis on their child’s safety and avoid placing them in situations that would endanger their lives.
