Fiji Police Ramp Up Security for Coca-Cola Games Athletics

Fiji Police special response and K9 units, along with traffic officers, will be deployed to ensure a drug-free and incident-free competition during the 3-day Coca-Cola Games athletics meet set to start this Thursday at the HFC Stadium in Suva.

Assistant Commissioner of Police and Chief Operations Officer Livai Driu said spot checks, including random vehicle checks, will be carried out to deter any illegal activities.

In addition to the increased security presence, community policing officers have been actively engaging with schools to raise awareness about safety issues among students and teachers.

They have also been in talks with bus operators to garner their support in promoting responsible behavior among students during the event.

Fiji Police are also calling upon parents, guardians, teachers, and the wider community to work together in ensuring the safety and security of all at the Coca-Cola Games.
