Fiji’s Ministry of Health has so far this month carried out more than 3000 COVID-19 tests, of which two returned positive diagnosis.
As of 22 February, the ministry completed 3,082 tests. It announced the positive results in a press statement on 3 February.
However, of the two, one was not added to Fiji’s COVID-19 case tally having been accounted for as an Ireland case in October 2020.
The two have since been cleared, and Fiji remains COVID-19 free to date.
Since Fiji’s first test on 30 January 2020, Fiji’s running COVID-19 test tally stood at 29,211 as of Monday this week, 22 February 2021. Fiji has had 56 cases in total, with 54 recoveries and two deaths, since our first case was reported on 19 March 2020. The last 38 cases have been international travel-associated cases detected in border quarantine.
Today marks 311 days since the last case was detected outside border quarantine.
