HIV Infections Up Almost 3 Folds Since 2010, With Males Making Up Majority of 2022 Cases

In Fiji, HIV infections have nearly tripled over a span of 12 years, with the latest data from 2022 revealing a majority of new infections occurring among males. According to the Ministry of Health, HIV infections in the country have increased by 260% since 2010, making it the second-fastest in the Asia Pacific region, with males accounting for 61%, females 36%, and transgender individuals 3% of the 245 new infections.
