3000-plus COVID-19 tests, so far, this month

Fiji’s Ministry of Health has so far this month carried out more than 3000 COVID-19 tests, of which two returned positive diagnosis. As of 22 February, the ministry completed 3,082 tests. It announced the positive results in a press statement on 3 February. US$2million support for Pacific Financial Technical Assistance Center (PFTAC)

United States Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Tony Greubel today announced it would contribute US$2 million (FJ$4.07 million) to the Pacific Financial Technical Assistance Center (PFTAC). The United States and the International Monetary Fund signed a letter of understanding in Suva this morning to formalise the deal, which also underlines the country’s status as the seventh donor in the fifth phase of PFTAC operations. Increased rest days and squad size for RWC2023

All teams will have at least five days between matches to rest and coaches will also have two more players in their extended squad at the 2023 Rugby World Cup. To accommodate the additional rest requirement, World Rugby has extended pool phase by a week, kicking off on 8 September and conclude with the final on 28 October.
